What’s it like to be on the board of Purple Crayon Players?
Here’s what Mary Hungerford, our Technical Director, has to say…
“I can honestly say that being a part of Purple Crayon Players has changed my life. Through my involvement with the group, I find myself honing my skills in both leadership and teamwork, as well as finding a family that I can rely on and who can rely on me. Most importantly, I have discovered a love of TYA that otherwise would have been lost, and through Purple Crayon Players I have found both on-and-off campus events and opportunities to express this as a theatre-goer and an educator. For example, I have been able to make connections with various TYA playwrights and professionals nationwide, brought a show to the Chicago Humanities Festival, and even find myself leading a workshop with the rest of Purple Crayon at the 2010 American Alliance for Theatre and Education Conference this summer in San Francisco!”
